Review 23: The Prince and The Guard by Kiera Cass.

Dear Reader,

Before America arrived at the palace to compete in the Selection, there was another girl in Prince Maxon's life. The Prince opens the week before the Selection begins and follows Maxon through the first day of the competition.

This was a nice book. I liked reading about how Maxon felt about the selection and all and how his life was before. Sadly the part about Maxon is small, I really would love to read the entire story from his point of view, because for those girls it's hard but for him I think it's even harder. I was truely happy to read that he wasn't a jerk, because in the Selection books with America he is all nice and dreamy but I always wondered how he thought about it. Well and now I know, sort of. Then you get to the Aspen part, and that was just Katniss and Gale all over again. Protecting her and a guard/warrior ect. Yes that deffinitley was something that went through my mind the entire time. But luckily it didn't bother me. I never really was interested in his point of view but it was a nice suprise to actually enjoy it. Because I always saw him as a character who was a Jerk, made a mistake and now because someone else could have her, wanted the girl back. But no we really get to know Aspen in this book and I think its nice because we knew so little about him.

Okay so in my opinion the whole 'There was another girl in Prince Maxon's life' is a bit overreacted!
The girl was just a friend he saw when their parent's were visiting eachother and they hang out, and then the girl had a crush on him and he rejected her. Nothing more, Nothing less. As I said I was happy to find out he really wasn't a jerk. I had so much sympathy for Maxon when he had to send the first 8 girls away.. It was so hard for him. And also so cute that he wanted to please every girl with their stay. And then we have Aspen, or as I said before Gale. Aspen, Aspen, Aspen.. poor boy. Trying so hard to get America but every time Prince Charming swoops her away. Sympathy for him.
