Bookemi reccomends: Fantasy.
Dear reader,
Welcome to a new Bookemi reccomends!
This time we are going to talk about Fantasy, recommending some books, movies and a TV show!
Lets start:
Books:
I love the serie, written by Chris Colfer (Glee superstar, I KNOW I AM FANGIRLING TOO!), The land of stories. It is about a twin sister and brother who couldn't be more different. Alex is a true nerd and Connor just wants to do everything but school. After their fathers death world has turned upside down. And when they go through this magical portal traveling by their grandmothers storybook, they find themselfs in a land full of tales as oldest time stories.
Movies:
Next to the all time fantasy classics like Harry Potter or Lord Of The Rings ( Who are also my all time faves) I went with something different. It is a fantasy musical movie with just the most amazing cast ever. Meryl Streep (goddest herself), Anna Kendrick (yes she is way more talented then making music with cups), and a few scenes with mister depp! and alot more of AMAZING actors. I am talking about In To The Woods released this year! It is a amazing musical movie full of great acting, thrilling and funny moments and alot of singing ( which is awesome). Here is a little summary found on IMDB: Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a musical format that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
I loved this movie, really does justice to the Fantasy genre. But if you don't like musical movies, I suggest you skip this one.
TV show:
This was the hardest of them all, but I found one.
It is one of my favourite TV shows of all time, and it is another one about good old stories being mixed together. Once upon a time, it is all about OUAT! It is a TV show full of OTP's and the stories you grew up with but in a new jacket! A summary from IMDB where season 1 starts:

For Emma
Swan, life has been anything but a happy ending. But when she's reunited with
Henry - the son she gave up for adoption ten years ago - on the night of her
28th birthday, everything changes. The now 10-year-old Henry is in desperate
need of Emma's help because he believes from reading a book of fairytales that
she's the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming - who sent her away from
the Enchanted Forest to be protected from a curse that was enacted by the Evil
Queen. Emma initially refuses to believe a word of Henry's story but soon finds
that his hometown of Storybrooke, Maine is more than it seems. Because it's in
Storybrooke that all of the classic characters we know are frozen in time with
no memories of their former selves except for the Evil Queen.
I don't know how but each season when you think it couldn't get any grazier, or when you think they've done it all, they suprise you!! I really recommend this serie, so go watch it ;)
