Review 22: The heroes of olympus #2; The son of Neptune by Rick Riordan.
Dear reader,
So, many of you may know by now that the Percy Jackson serie is the one that made me go nuts about English YA reading, so this serie is precious to me. And every time I am scared a book is going to be bad, but then again can you go wrong with Rick Riordan? Because damn he did it again, he made me interested in Roman and Greek gods and amused me throughout the entire book! I also was a bit sceptic about this new serie after the PJ one, but I am convinced now these are just as good, and maybe better. I love the new characters, sometimes it is a bit confusing on who did what and when what happend ( do you get that) but in the end everything comes together. I am not really about big books and for me these books always feel like a task to read because they are big boys and I am a slow reader, but I always WANT to finish these, they are that good. The plotline wasn't really suprising, but sometimes in some occasions I was like: OOOh so that happend! or SEE I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING GOING ON! So don't expect alot of plottwists but do expect some shokking moments.

Okay so now for the plot disscusion, SO JASON IS HAZELS OLD CRUSH?! WHAT?! I seriously do not understand, didn't he like got his memory back? and wasn't that like just 21st century? Or is my brain already forgetting things from the first book? please if you can explain this leave a comment on how thats possible but mark your comment with spoiler ;) And I loved like at the end how FINALLY Frank and Hazel were getting their romance on! And if Percy and Annabeth are going to split up and Annabeth is going bonkers or whatever ( like that creepy woman and the end said), No.. just No!!!!
Let me know what you thought of the story in the comments, but please again mark your comment with SPOILER!

Percy is
confused. When
he awoke from his long sleep, he didn't know much more than his name. His brain
fuzz is lingering, even after the wolf Lupa told him he is a demigod and
trained him to fight with the pen/sword in his pocket. Somehow Percy manages to
make it to a camp for half-bloods, despite the fact that he has to keep killing
monsters along the way. But the camp doesn't ring any bells with him. The only
thing he can recall from his past is another name: Annabeth
Hazel is supposed to be dead. When she lived before, she didn't do a very good job of it. Sure, she was an obedient daughter, even when her mother was possessed by greed. But that was the problem — when the Voice took over her mother and commanded Hazel to use her "gift" for an evil purpose, Hazel couldn't say no. Now because of her mistake, the future of the world is at risk. Hazel wished she could ride away from it all on the stallion that appears in her dreams.
Frank is a klutz. His grandmother says he is descended from heroes and can be anything he wants to be, but he doesn't see it. He doesn't even know who his father is. He keeps hoping Apollo will claim him, because the only thing he is good at is archery — although not good enough to win camp war games. His bulky physique makes him feel like an ox, especially infront of Hazel, his closest friend at camp. He trusts her completely — enough to share the secret he holds close to his heart.

The characters, this pic is found on the internet! :P |
I have to say that your reviews are different then most reviews, because you define the characters, which I love. Because the characters are what draws me into a book. Thank you for sharing :)
