Review 13: Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.

Dear reader,

Eleanor is the new girl.
And eventhough she has bright red hair, wears clothes that doesn't match her gender or her size, she tries to be invisible to her mom, siblings and most of all her stephdad. But eventhough the bullies are everywhere, and her anxiety takes over sometimes, she will never be invisible to Park, Stupid adorable asian kid.

Park is the kid in the back of the bus who actually does a great job of making himself invisible, with just his headphones, comic books and mixtapes. But when the new annoying girl becomes more then just his schoolbus friend, his life will never ever be the same again,

At first sight this book looked like a cute romance novel to me. And it is, but with this John Green not suggercoated element. Because as we see alot in movies, and read alot in book it is a story about a misfit girl living in a tough world, but with a boy by her side who likes her for who she is. That is the whole cute romance part. But because this is a book written in the view from Eleanor and park, you really get what they are feeling next to the romance.

I did had some problems with Eleanor sometimes, because sometimes she took situations way to dramatic. But because of her messed up home, I constantly forgave her for that.

On the back of the book says it not suitible for younger readers. And please stick to this, if you are a young reader wait some years and then read it.

And the end could not have been more beautiful.

Love, me.
