Welcome to a new post!
Before we start with the review lets start with a summary:
Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he
constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good,
no matter how small, stops him.
Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death.
When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.

I quite enjoyed this book, but not as mutch as I hoped to.
It has beautiful writing and some pieces made me, and maybe you. think about life.
As the summary says Finch is quite fascinated by death, and the way he talked about this fascination sometimes made me see his fascination. That good of a writing. So yes, big fan of her writing style! The storyline was beautiful, sad but sometimes a bit too predictive. If you are sensitive for suicide topics then skip this book, because it is stuffed with it.

Okay straight to the point, totally saw his death coming.
But I never saw it coming that Violet just left him and Finch left her in the middle of a big fight.
Maybe if they just talked it out and Violet went with him to maybe someone he would and HAD to talk to, he'd still live. My opinion. But maybe he couldn't be saved at all.

Plot twist that Amanda was anorexic and suicidle, never EVER expected that.
The story was beautifulm but the whole used to be popular girl going with the most picked one guy in school made me question it sometimes. isn't that even in this situation still a bit to good to be true?

Great review. I sometimes am okay with predictable plots. There is sometimes something satisfying about having a book turn out the way you expected it too. I do like the cover of this book, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteyeah sometimes it is nice to read a predictable book, put I hoped this one wasn't like this. And thankyou!
